On average, users keep their smartphone for just 33.6 months before replacing it with a new device. Innovations are responsible for this development and play an extremely important role in customers’ perception.

These figures are proof of the rapid technological progress as well: According to studies, new mobile phone generations emerge every ten years, and new value chains emerge every 20 years. While the 5G rollout is in full swing, forecasts call for the commercial launch of 6G technologies in 2030.
